Update;

Kathy just called, the operation has been postponed again. The blood work taken on December 31st, shows an infection. Now the earliest Brent will have the operation to take care of the screw in his spine will be Friday.

Update10:00pm
Doctors have now said that the soonest the operation on the back can take place will be on Monday. They have taken another blood culture and will know the results of that in 48 hours. Brent has been and continues to make improvements concerning his right lung. It still has a long way to go, but improvements are being made. Brent was moved out of ICU today. He was moved to room 413. Thank you to all of you who have been praying for our family. We cannot thank you enough.

I just received a letter from an old family friend in Eustis who told me about Brent's accident. Kathy and I were roommates at Harding before she and Pete married. I've read all the blog entries and have been praying about the situation, and will be informing prayer warriers in the Pacific Northwest today. Our God is an awesome God.

I know it gets frustrating sometimes to feel as if you are going one step forward and two steps back. I will keep all of you in my prayers. I pray the infection will clear so that Brent can have the surgery.

Pete and Kathy,
We are praying for the clearing of Brent's infection and God's peace for all of you.
The rehab center I mentioned the other day is Craig Hospital in Denver, CO. It is a renowned treatment center for spinal and brain injuries and worth including in your research.
Keep steady and God will see you through this. Love to all,
Janice and Lee

We are in Houston this morning, checked to get an update on Brent. We will pray that the infection clears and Brent can have surgery by Monday. Glad there is some improvement with the lung. I know this is so very hard on you all. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers continually. Please tell Brent we are praying for and thinking about him constantly. C. Hix

Adams family, I am praying for you:

"Thank you, Lord, for the great things you have done for this family, and for filling them with the joy of your presence & promises. For though they sow in tears, they will reap with songs of joy. As they weep, sowing seed to your glory, they will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them (Ps 126). Please give them strength moment by moment to put their trust (& their tears) in you for you are true to your word, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all Comfort. Amen"

Thanks for keeping us updated through this blog. I check it at least twice a day to see what specific prayers are needed. If I can do anything for you here in Leesburg, just let me know. God is powerful even when we feel powerless so just keep leaning on Him. Jackie Hanegan
