Out of surgery

For men are not cast off by the Lord forever. Though He brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love. For He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men.
-Lamentations 3:31-33

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 we are told to pray without ceasing. I know many of you have already been doing so and will continue to do so. The only way Brent will continue to recover is with prayer. He still needs prayer. He is still has a long road to recovery.

And God has answered our prayers. God works in mysterious ways and will continue to do so. The doctors told us that they could not operate until Brent had made it past the most critical time: 72 hours. At 73 hours an operating room opened up. The head neurosurgeon had 6 hours available as well as everyone needed for the team to perform the surgery. The only one who could have orchestrated that miracle was our Father. We may not understand His plan in Brent's life right now but we know that He will show us as soon as we are ready. Right now we are praying for guidance to help Brent and be there for him in anyway we can. We know that no one can comfort him the way our Father can so we are just praying that he can feel His arms around him.

Even though it may not seem possible God loves Brent even more than we do. He knit Brent together in his mothers womb. We praise God because we are truly fearfully and wonderfully made in His image.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8

We may not understand but we will overcome only with the help of God.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13

I am so sorry to hear about what has happened. My husband and I are both Harding Alumni and so of course this is how we now Brent. Brent and I had several classes together and we used to study together a lot, mostly for good old B-Law :) Just recently we found each other on facebook and so we have been able to keep up with each other lately. It is so hard to understand why things like this happen. The beauty of it is that we don't have to understand, we just have to trust and have faith in our Father that he will heal Brent and bring him to a full recovery. I fully believe that God is holding Brent in his arms and taking care of him through this crucial time and he will continue to do so in the days to come. I'm sure that God has magnificant plans for Brent in the future. Brent is such a positive, happy and STRONG person, I just know the Lord will see him and you all through this. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brent and his family. We love you Brent, you hang in there. May God Bless.

We are praying for Brent, his family and friends. God is mysterious to us in this life but He is working downstream in Brent's.

Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong, they are weak but He is strong.

Over the past year my husband and I have made a committment to each other that we will be thankful for all things, as the Bible tell us to. It seems like such an easy task, we have so many blessings! We live in a blessed nation. We have a wonderful family, etc. We have also had some trials this year (nothing like what you are dealing with) but in those days, being thankful was very difficult. We held each other accountable and reminded each other to be thankful, even through the trials. The act of being thankful has been such an incredible blessing, it has changed our prspective on life. From reading your post, I think this is a lesson you have already learned. The strength of the Lord shines through you. Please know we continue to pray for all of you as you minister to Brent and for Brent as he faces the reality of the future. Many here in SC are continuing to pray for him.

We are all continuing to pray for Brent and for you all. Specifically, that God will wrap His arms around all of you and let you feel His love and the love of all who are praying for you.
I am amazed at the way He has already used the faith of your family to bless all who read your words here and witness your every day walk. Miss Kathy, we will never forget the way you blessed our son and we will continue to lift yours up to The Father daily.
We love you all.

This is an email I was asked to post that was sent to Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I live in Orlando, FL and worship with Pete and Kathy Adams. I work at Christian Home & Bible School where Kathy works and Brent attended school.

I just want to thank you so much for the love and care that you are showing to Brent and his family at this time. Words can't express how much you are appreciated when we as a church family can't physically be there for them. God bless you for everything that you are doing for them. We are all spending so much time in prayer for Brent. We are also thanking God for you.

In Him,
Kathy Pruitt

I just want the Adams to know that THEIR West Orange Lifegroup is praying without ceasing. We are so appreciative of the church family in Arkansas, in their support of the Adams. Pete and Kathy are so dear to us, and we all feel like Bryan, Brent and Amanda are ours too.

We are confident that God has great plans for Brent, and we can't wait to see what he has in store.

The Joseys, and the rest of our Lifegroup.
