A message from Brent

The Phone Call!

Wednesday evening around 5:30 I received a phone call from none other than Kevin Everett! For those of you who are not sports fans Kevin was the tight end for the Buffalo Bills who was seriously injured during the first of the season this year when he was hit by a player for the Denver Broncos. Kevin received a fractured neck and was paralyzed after the accident. However, as of today he is WALKING! Kevin has recently been on Oprah, Sports Centers special, and Good Morning America. He beat the odds and was able to overcome his injury through perseverance and prayer and I hope to do the same thing. Kevin gave me two pieces of advice 1) Be Positive 2) Be Patient. I know these two pieces of advice all too well. I would like to thank Dave Reed from my home congregation in Florida for setting up the telephone call it was a great inspiration.

I told Kevin that I would write about him in my blog so that my prayer chain could include him as well. He greatly appreciated the offer and told me he would be praying for me as well. If you would please pray for both myself and Kevin so that we may completely overcome our injuries I would greatly appreciate it. Keep the Faith

In Him,

Brent

Brent,

We just wanted to wish you a Happy Valentines Day. May your day be filled with love, as in all your days. We think about you every day and continue to pray for you. I was excited to hear that Kevin actually called you. I'm sure you were just as much of an encouragement to him as he was to you.
We love you,
Paul, Kim, and Zane

Brent, I have been following your progress and was so excited to hear that Kevin had called you. I was watching the Oprah show when both of the players were on. It was an emotional show for both of them. We continue to pray for your healing and complete recovery. Monica (Merrill Insurance Group)

That's the coolest! I am trying my hardest to get my little sister to get Bobby Bowden's autograph for you. I know you'll treasure it. It's coming soon.

Happy Valentine's Day. Nate and I will be thinking about you.
